Apalachiacola Motorcycle trail
« on: April 10, 2014, 10:05:00 AM »
Do I have to have a title for my dirt bike in order to ride the trail?  If not, where do I go to get a day pass?

thank you,
Jack A.

I think "technically" you need the little green sticker that you get from the DMV.  However in all my time in the NF no one has asked to see my sticker.  They DO ask to see your pass/permit.  I know that you can pick up a day pass (actually good for 3 days if I recall correctly) at the Silver Lake trail head.  I also believe that you can pick one up at the new Lost Lake Trail Head, but I have not been out there since it was reopened, so I can not confirm that.

You can also pick up an Annual Pass from the Forest Service Office.
You're to fast for me.

No you don't have to have the title. I got my  annual pass at the forest station in Crawfordville. $75 for the year. They should only ask for your permit/pass in the forest. They have them available at crawfordville forest station office (near the Winn Dixie) and in Tallahassee at John Knox office. I bought three in Crawfordville because I thought it was very strange that the one in Tallahassee can only take cash (he said the credit card machine and check machine is broken). I work at the federal government and I have yet to see a check machine. Sounds fishy to me. Happy to answer any questions if you want to call me at 850-556-6784.
